June Art of Organics x Lagoon

June AO Flatlay Green Beauty subscription- Felixinsideout

It’s the 5th of the month, and that means the June Art of Organics clean beauty box drops today. If you’ve been following me for any length of time, you know that I swear by green beauty box subscriptions as a way to transition into green beauty. You get to discover new products at a significant discount. And if you’ve chosen the right subscription box, you can even rest easy that the products will always be the highest quality and meet high ingredient standards.

Art of Organics is one of those subscription boxes. In addition to amazing green beauty, each month Art of Organics works with a new artist to design their box art. This month the Theme is “Lagoon,” and AO worked with the artist Crystal Walen for their featured mermaid print. Crystal is a bespoke textile designer inspired by vintage romance and fashion. I was so smitten with the cover art that I ordered this mermaid print for my daughter’s nursery. You see, I love that AO not only introduces me to new green beauty but new art to fill my home.

Last month I shared my excitement about becoming an Art of Organics Clean Beauty Insider (formerly called Ambassadors). Being an “insider” means I’m an affiliate and I get their box in the mail a few weeks early so that I can try it out and give you my honest opinion about what it has to offer. It’s a fantastic opportunity for me to share a brand I use and love. Never fear, I’ll always keep it real.

So let’s get into this box.

This month’s Clean Beauty Box by Art of Organics is themed LAGOON, and it’s all about enjoying summer vibes. The Ursa Major mask was included to help you enjoy more of what summer has to offer– it’s quick, and the Hannes Dottir mineral mist is hydrating and calming. It’ll cool you down and calm skin that maybe got a little too much of a good thing. ☀ This box, which includes two full-size products, is an $89 value and only costs you $39 with a subscription. Holler!

BTW- the last few months these boxes have sold out within a week of the drop on the 5th of the month, so if you’re interested you better get it before its gone. Subscribe Here.

Ursa Major 3 minute flash mask

June Art of Organics + Ursa Major 3min Mask- Felixinsideout

Ursa Major is a Vermont based skincare line that was created to provide healthy and highly effective skin care solutions that are also easy to use. This 3-minute flash mask ($44) is the epitome of that mission. It’s a gel consistency that goes on clear and uses plant enzymes like pomegranate, hibiscus, and pineapple to provide gentle exfoliation. There is also Alfalfa extract, which promotes elasticity. The ingredients are stellar, and the smell is so lovely.

I’m excited to add this mask to my collection. As you know, masking is my fave, and this one fits into my busy mom schedule with such ease! Most masks are relegated to my evening routine, but this mask is perfect for morning masking. Just rub a quarter size amount on your clean, dry face, do your morning thang, and then rinse it off in a few minutes. The gel consistency means you are not waiting for this mask to dry, so your face is still mobile. Translation: I’m able to brush my teeth with this mask on. Jackpot.

Hannes Dóttir Mineral Mist

June Art of Organics + Hannes Dottir Mineral mist- Felixinsideout

In true Art of Organics fashion, there is usually at least one brand featured that is new to me. This month it was Hannes Dóttir, a California-based skincare line which formulates nutrient dense products made with Icelandic sea kelp. The first thing that caught my attention was the packing. This mist comes in a heavy glass bottle, with minimalist packaging. The first thing I did was have my husband heft the bottle. His reaction? “ooooh, that’s nice.” The mineral mist ($45) is a hydrating and calming mineral toner. This product has been a joy to use. It has ingredients like vegetable glycerin + NaPCA which hydrate; choline + silica to protect and promote elasticity; and spearmint + citric acid to calm and brighten skin tone.

With this toner, you want to be sure to shake to activate the minerals and then mist it everywhere. Yup, this product is excellent for face or body. I found myself misting my face and body post-shower. It’s so refreshing, smells terrific, and incredibly moisturizing. I’m typically someone who likes to go in with a moisturizer ASAP after I’ve washed because otherwise, my skin becomes tight and dry, but with this mist, I found I never got the tightness. I made this discovery by sheer accident. I got distracted by kids, which happens often, and hours later when I went back to put on a moisturizer, I realized my face wasn’t tight. Heck yeah!

This brand is so cool and I’m excited to try out other items by the brand. Next on my list? The Crystal Aura detox face cleanser.

Want to give it a try?
