October Art of Organics x Reset

October Art of Organics full lineup-stock-Felixinsideout

Well, Hello there Fall. ๐Ÿ‚ I don’t know about where you live, but after a hot summer, October decided to come in with a bang. We’ve had weeks of heavy rain, overcast days, and even the beginning symptoms of Seasonal Affective Disorder. This October Art of Organics box could not have come at a better time. It was just what I needed to pamper myself and add a little something special to my daily ins-and-outs. I mean, that’s kind of the point, right?

This monthโ€™s AO theme, Reset, is perfect for this period of transition. And the featured artwork was super complimentary to my mood. Not that I had anything to do with the artwork, but the timing was perfect. The beautiful wildflower watercolors by the talented artist Patrice Horvath, are just the right amount of moodiness that I love in my art. Patrice is a New Jersey-basedย artist and designer, and you can follow her process over on Instagram- @patricehorvath.

Can’t wait to see what AO has in store this month? Let me jump right in.

October Art of Organics x Reset

Thisย Clean Beauty Boxย is all about resetting your skin for Fall, and it couldn’t be more perfect. As we enter the Fall season, I definitely need to rest, reset, and renew. This month’s box features two brands I adore, and I’m excited to share them with you. As I said, I need a little rest in my life too, so this box was an extra treat in that it provided just that. I am so grateful to be an ambassador for a few different clean beauty subscription brands; I love the excitement of discoveries, but it often means putting old favorites up on the shelf to make space in my routine to try out something new. So it is indeed a joy when I alreadyย know I’m going to love a product because I know and trust the brand behind the product.

This month Art of Organics knocked it out of the park with theseย two products that just effortlessly slid right into my routine; no hectic product testing, no note-taking after each application.

This month features two full-sized products:ย Live Botanical’s 30ml Luna Renewing Concentrate ($60) and Honua Skincare’s ‘Aina Maskย ($38).

Live Botanical Luna Renewing Concentrate

October Art of Organics- Live Botanical Luna Renewing Concentrate - Felixinsideout

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I love Live Botanical. Back in Spring I showed you how to Spring Clean your Routine using all Live Botanical products. Carolyn, the founder, has a love and knowledge of herbalism that is beyond reproach. Her formulas are rooted in creating balance and harmony to enhance what makes you naturally beautiful, and the price is spectacular for anyone trying to stick to a tight skincare budget. Needless to say, I was beyond ecstatic to add yet another LB product to my arsenal. And the Luna Renewing Concentrateย ($60) could not have been a better addition.

Want to know another tidbit about me? I’m obsessed with balms and pressed serums. OBSESSED. Just check out my holy grails – both are balms/pressed serums. And not to be too predictable, but this beautiful balm is definitely on its way to joining the ranks of the other Holy Grails. This powerhouse is a highly concentrated formula of whole pant compounds, botanicals, and extracts selected for theirย ability to firm, repair, and protect your skin.

This concentrate begins with organic cold-pressed chia seed oil and is slowly infused with organic rose, chamomile, and lavenderย oils. The chia seed oil improves texture while the floral oils are anti-inflammatory. Combine those with camellia seed oil, which is very healing, and CoQ10 which protects your skin from oxidative stress and you are well on your way to a perfect night balm. The ingredient that really makes this decadent balm shine, however, is the Lupine seed extract.ย Lupeol, which is concentrated in the coating of lupine seeds, stimulates collagen production. And we all know that as we age, collagen is the name of the game. Lupine seed extract helps firm skin for a more youthful looking face. I can get on board with that.

I’ve been using this at night, but as we approach drier months, this would absolutely work as a final step in a morning or evening skincare routine.

Honua ‘Aina Mask

October Art of Organics- Honua 'Aina Mask- Felixinsideout

I first discovered Honua Skincare back in June and instantly fell in love with their Moana Mask + Malu protecting day cream (SPF30). When I found out that Honua was going to be featured in this month’s AO box, I did a little desk shimmy. It was another brand I love and knew would fit right into my life without a thought.

The ‘Aina Mask ($38) was new to me, but the gel-like texture I’ve come to love in the Honua masks, made it feel just like my old favorite. The texture is very cooling and always makes my skin happy. If you’re unfamiliar with Honua, let me give you the short version:ย Honua Skincare isย a Hawaiian brand founded by a lovely O’ahu native, Kapua Browning. Kapua creates products based on traditional Hawaiian healing and medicinal herbs and methodologies.

The ‘Aina Mask, is a revitalizing and glow-inducing mask formulated from ingredients chosen from the land (FYI- the Moana Mask is formulated from ingredients from the Ocean). This mask features ingredients such as Kalo, coconut charcoal, and Ni’oi (a Hawaiian chili pepper). This combination of ingredients feeds the skin with phytonutrients, draws out impurities, andย stimulatesย cellular turnover.

This mask is active. You’llย feel a very mild, and satisfying, tingling while it’s on the skin. But don’t worry, the use of tamanu oil, hibiscus, and raw Hawaiian honey balances, hydrates, soothes, and nourishes the skin for a perfectly balanced masking experience.

I’ve really enjoyed adding this to my masking routine. Just 10-15mins and you’ll be glowing. I love to follow this mask with the Luna Renewing Concentrate and then do a little facial gua sha massage before bed. These two together put you most of the way to a perfect evening routine.ย Jackpot.
